In this session, participants will explore a variety of OER textbooks and other digital resources designed to meet accessibility requirements. Some examples of OER textbook databases that will be shared include OpenStax, OER Open Textbooks, Milne, Saylor Academy, Lyryx, and BCCCampus. I will demonstrate the accessible features that have been built into the design of the textbooks and how AI can then be used to further customize the instructional content to accommodate the needs of diverse learners. AI will be used to create assessments, alternative versions of those assessments which includes options with reduced answer choices, increase and/or decrease reading level, design active and engaging learning opportunities with choices, and much more. The session will be interactive and will include time for participants to explore and modify the resources that will be presented.
