At Digital Promise, Sierra Noakes partners with practitioners to create clear edtech quality indicators through product certifications. Co-designed with educators, education leaders, and learners, her work identifies the field’s priorities and builds edtech industry standards. Educators and education leaders can utilize these quality indicators to efficiently sift through edtech options, simplifying their efforts to find tools that center learners' diverse experiences and strengths. Sierra has established partnerships with a K-12 education system that represents nearly 2 million learners and a higher education system that serves 1.8 million learners to include certification status in their evaluation processes. She aims to continue supporting districts, schools, and educators to more easily identify high quality edtech. Prior to Digital Promise, Sierra was a teacher in Brooklyn, New York. Sierra earned her Master’s in Education Policy from Harvard Graduate School of Education and her B.A. in Government from Claremont McKenna College.
