Carmen Cortez currently serves as the research strategy and analytics manager for the Verizon Innovative Learning Schools program at Digital Promise. With a decade of experience in strategy, research, and operations at Teach For America and the Opportunity Network, Carmen brings a wealth of knowledge to her role. Throughout her career, Carmen has worked with schools and community organizations nationwide to improve postsecondary and career readiness. She has also successfully managed national programs aimed at facilitating the launch of careers in public policy and social entrepreneurship. As a first-generation college graduate, Carmen is driven to transform how we understand learning and promote equitable learning environments for all students. Carmen holds a B.S. from Baruch College, where she graduated magna cum laude, and she earned her M.S. in learning analytics from Columbia University Teachers College.
