Dr. Ally Skoog-Hoffman (she/her/ella) oversees the design and enactment of CASEL’s research agenda and learning initiatives. In this role, Ally leads CASEL’s efforts to continuously improve service delivery, conduct external research that shapes the SEL field, and develop resources to help improve experiences and outcomes for all students. More specifically, she directs the CASEL Guide to Evidence-Based SEL Programming, providing guidance and information in strategically adopting SEL programs, including those in digital spaces. She also directs key practice-focused research to support and scale the continuous improvement processes and impacts of high-quality SEL implementation in partner states, districts, schools across the country. Prior to CASEL, Ally was a district consultant at TNTP, where she supported district and charter leaders on instructional program implementation and evaluation. Her prior work focused on applied research and intervention projects and mixed-methods evaluations, with an emphasis on the promotion of positive academic and socio-emotional development of BIPOC youth. Ally earned her Ph.D. in educational psychology from the University of Michigan. She is a former DC Public Schools educator, instructional coach, and mother of two public school students.
