Hi my name is Tim Miles, Technology Director for both Steamboat and South Routt School Districts in Steamboat Springs Colorado. In addtion to my day job I am a founder of three different broadband consortiums, NCB, CEBC and THOR. Steamboat Springs is 3 hours in every direction from any Metropolitan area and is a destination resort area and did have sub par internet feeding the area, until NCB. NCB is Northwest Colorado Broadband where the city, county, hospital, power authority and the scchools came together to create a 10G loop into the area from Denver. THOR is a regional concept of NCB where 10 Entities came together to expand this loop and now consists of 800G, 400G and 100G sections upgrading and expanding of NCB. CEBC is Colorado Edcuation Broadband consortium where we purchase internet as a single entity for our clients, drastically changing internet prices in the State of Colorado when you are going to market with such a large demand.
