Daniel Marcos Mateo brings extensive experience in education and educational leadership to his role as the Assistant Superintendent of Innovation & School Choice at Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS), the third largest school district in the United States. His responsibilities include overseeing the development and implementation of innovative educational programs, managing the School Choice Office, and leading the district in leveraging technology to enhance learning.

Mr. Mateo's career trajectory showcases his dedication to improving educational opportunities for students. He has served as a Principal, Assistant Principal, Lead Teacher, and Chemistry teacher, demonstrating his comprehensive understanding of the educational landscape. His leadership was instrumental in developing BioTECH @ Richmond Heights 9-12 High School, a unique STEM-based magnet school with a focus on Conservation Biology.
Beyond his leadership in individual schools, Mr. Mateo has spearheaded district-wide initiatives that impact students across Miami-Dade County. He leads the implementation of the district's technology plan, ensuring equitable access to technology and fostering innovative learning environments. Additionally, he oversees library media services, transforming school libraries into dynamic learning hubs, and manages instructional resources to support high-quality curriculum development.

Mr. Mateo's commitment to education extends beyond his work at M-DCPS. He has co-authored grant proposals, developed district-level response plans during the COVID-19 pandemic, and built data analytics platforms to track key metrics and improve student outcomes.

With his extensive experience, leadership skills, and dedication to innovation, Daniel Marcos Mateo is a driving force behind providing diverse and enriching educational experiences for students in Miami-Dade County.
