Senior Director, Research & Learning CASEL: Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning Chicago, Illinois
Social emotional learning (SEL) is the process through which young people and adults acquire and apply the knowledge and skills to develop healthy identities, manage emotions, show empathy for others, maintain supportive relationships, and make responsible and caring decisions. As such, SEL is an integral part of both education and human development. But what does SEL look like in the digital space, and where does it fit in the roadmap to innovation in K-12 education? How can we use technology and AI to deliver high-quality SEL to classrooms? When done thoughtfully and equitably, these approaches have the potential to provide robust, engaging, and consistent opportunities for students to learn and thrive. During this session, we will explore the considerations, hurdles, and enabling factors when integrating SEL programs and practices into the digital space.
