Dawn Schiavone, CETL and M.Ed, is currently the Student Data Privacy Officer at NBEC/NWOCA in Northwest Ohio. She has been in education for over 35 years. Dawn has led districts through 1-1 initiatives, developed and implemented a K-12 Technology Course of Study, created a TechHub website that includes technology tutorial resources for teachers and staff, and developed an online professional learning environment to help educators in their growth with technology. Most currently, Dawn is leading the way through Ohio, educating districts on SDP and privacy laws. She also assists districts with developing an SDP plan, including developing a vendor assessment, creating data privacy practices and policies, and securing data privact agreements to ensure vendors are keeping student data private. Dawn has the CETL designation and has presented numerous times at Learn21, Ohio CoSN, OETC, FETC, CoSN National, Brainstorm, MACUL and other conferences and has conducted technology integration training for graduate credit to educators annually, for over 20 years.
