Mike Sylofski is a Deputy Director at the Northeastern Regional Information Center (NERIC) at Capital Region BOCES, a regional education services agency in Albany, NY. He has spent over 25 years helping schools develop, implement, and deliver distance, blended, and online learning programs at NERIC. In particular, he manages a leading regional Distance Learning program connecting 65 school districts in New York State and he helped create and manage NERIC's Cooperative Virtual Learning Academy (CVLA), a virtual school using an innovative model of staffing contributions from regional schools.
In addition to his role at NERIC, Mike is Co-Chair of the NYS Education Department’s Digital Learning Advisory Council, Past President of the NYS Association for Computers and Technologies in Education (NYSCATE), a CoSN Certified Education Technology Leader, and recipient of the School Administrators Association of NYS (SAANYS) Leader in Digital Education and ISTE Making IT Happen awards.
Mike has presented regionally, statewide, nationally, and internationally on virtual learning and related instructional technology and leadership topics. He also contributed to the 2018 guidebook from Future Ready Schools on Blending Teaching and Technology.
